Lynn J. Rader

Lynn J. Rader, 74, longtime resident of Tiro, died Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.



She was born in Bucyrus on August 4, 1947 to the late Paul and Marjorie (Schulze) Roberts. She grew up helping her dad in his car dealership and graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1965. Lynn then went to Cleveland Junior College where she studied to be a Lab Technician and worked at Bucyrus Community Hospital before becoming a full-time homemaker. She and Kenneth H. Rader were married 44 years from May 15, 1971 until he preceded her in death on March 15, 2015.



Lynn was an avid reader who enjoyed staying home unless visiting a library or going to a store to purchase more magazines to read. She enjoyed the company of many pets and will be missed by her faithful companions, Labby and Bullet. Lynn also had a soft spot for all things Disney. She liked to fish in her younger years and she and Ken enjoyed getting away to their cottage on Marblehead. She was also an avid OSU Buckeye fan and two-time breast cancer survivor. She worshiped at St. John’s Lutheran Church in New Washington and loved to write along with her reading. Lynn corresponded with pen pals around the world and will be missed by them and all who knew her.



Lynn is survived by two daughters, Danelle Schneider and Christine (Jeff) Keller and six grandchildren, Tyler, Cailey, and Cierra Schneider and Sophia, Avery, and Oliver Keller. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by infant sister, Sue Ann Roberts.



Lynn’s funeral will be held on Saturday, June 25 at 1:30 pm at St. John’s Lutheran Church in New Washington with Pastor Kevin Mohr officiating. Friends may call from 1:00 pm until the funeral begins. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery Bucyrus.



Memorial donations are suggested to be made payable to the Stefanie Spielman Fund (for Breast Cancer Research) and given at the services or sent to Wise Funeral Service in Bucyrus who assisted the Rader family with arrangements. Memories and photos can be shared on Lynn’s Tribute Wall.
