Lyle J. Crall, 65, of Bucyrus, died Sunday, November 4, 2012 at Galion Hospital.
He was born April 7, 1947 in Bucyrus to the late Richard and Mabel (Spiegel) Crall. Lyle was a 1965 graduate of Wynford High School and the served in the Army Reserve National Guard. On September 28, 1968 Lyle married Diana L. Blum and the two have been inseparable since.
Lyle was a happy, loving and hardworking man. He worked at Swan and Timken earlier in life and also was a substitute bus driver for Wynford Schools for more than 20 years. He and Diana operated SERVPRO in both Crawford and Huron counties for 25 years and he ended his work career helping Diana run SoBrite Cleaning Service.
Lyle worked hard but also enjoyed relaxing. He loved spending time at their place in Port Clinton where he could put the boat in the water and fish with family and friends. A cup of coffee and a bag of cashews were daily treats and Lyle loved sweets of any kind. When not working or fishing, he liked spending time on the mower or relaxing with his four legged friend, Scrapper. Lyle also loved following Buckeyes and Browns football.
He was a longtime City League softball coach and a former Holmes Twp. volunteer firefighter. He was a member of Scioto United Methodist Church, the American Legion Post 181 and the Moose Lodge 669.
In addition to Diana, his best friend of 44 years, Lyle is survived by a daughter, Katina Crall of Galion and special friend, Brian Roszman; grandson, Nicholas McIntyre of Bucyrus and girlfriend, Jessica Cains. Also surviving are four brothers, Charles Crall of Bucyrus, Don (Marlene) Crall of Bucyrus, James (Sue) Crall of Atlantic, Iowa and Larry (Joyce) Crall of Bucyrus; mother and father-in-law, Woodrow and Mary Blum of Galion; sisters-in-law, Patricia Dissett, Beverly (Michael) McCrory and Debra Sizemore; many nieces nephews and cousins. Lyle is preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Janet Crall.
A celebration of life service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 7 at Scioto UMC with Rev. Glory Geib officiating and friends are welcome to gather with family at the church one hour prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be given to the family through the Wise Funeral Service or through the church on the day of the service.
