Lyle Candel

Lyle Allen Candel, 65, of Liberty Twp. died Saturday afternoon, September 19, 2015 at the OSU Wexner Medical Center after an onset of recent illnesses.

He was born August 14, 1950 to the late Bill and Virginia (Evans) Candel. Lyle was a 1968 graduate of Colonel Crawford High School. He was a loud and passionate supporter of all Eagle athletics at every level and a proud member of the Front Row Crew. Always a sports fan, Lyle also cheered for Ohio State and Cleveland’s professional teams.

Lyle married the former Judy Schwartz on September 2, 1989. He worked for Pacal before joining Candel Cable where he worked until his health no longer permitted. He’ll be remembered as a witty jokester who enjoyed breakfast at the Crazy Fox, long drives, family gatherings and playing with his grandchildren, especially “stinky dice” with Rylee.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Judy Candel; children, Matt Candel and Sarah Leonhardt (fiancé, Jeff Watts); grandchildren, Mariah Candel, Devin Zarcone and Rylee Candel; sister, Patty (Charles) Starlin; brother, Gary (Jennifer) Candel; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lyle’s family will receive friends from 4-7 pm on Tuesday, September 22 at Wise Funeral Service in Bucyrus. Funeral services will be held at his graveside in Oakwood Cemetery on Wednesday at 11:00 am.
