Lucille Fullerton, 88, of Bucyrus, died Sunday, November 27, 2011 at her residence. Her death was unexpected, but of natural causes.
She was born Clover Lucille Kennedy on September 1, 1923 in Dallas Township to the late Almet and Mildred (Hill) Kennedy. Lucille attended school in Kirkpatrick, and graduated from Mt. Zion High School in 1940. While at Kirkpatrick, she was a member of the storied girls basketball teams that the school fielded in the 1930s. Following her graduation from college she taught public school, and advised 4H clubs. She was also active in providing musical accompaniment at her church, and helping lead the choir.
On December 18, 1955 she married Donald O. Fullerton who preceded her in death on August 17, 2005. While Don was still living they traveled extensively. Lucille enjoyed reading, sharing family history and loved her animals. Lucille also provided loving care to her parents and her sister Jean during her lifetime. Lucille was also known for her personal strength, her integrity and her sense of humor. Her word was her bond.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lucille is preceded in death by her son, Kimson Fullerton; her daughter, Pamela Fullerton and two sisters, Jean Kennedy, and her beloved Mary Joan Kennedy; her extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, December 4, 2011 at Wise Funeral Service, 129 W. Warren St., Bucyrus, Ohio 44820 with Pastor Jack Sharp officiating. Friends are invited one hour prior to the funeral service from 1-2 p.m. Private burial will take place in Oakwood Cemetery on Monday. Memorial contributions may be given to the Humane Society Serving Crawford County through the funeral home.
