Lucille A. Stetzer, 93, of Bucyrus, died Friday, April 25, 2014 at Carlisle Place.
She was born in Holmes Twp. May 20, 1920 to the late Ora and Lotta (Shirk) Sponseller and was a 1938 graduate of Holmes Liberty High School. On November 11, 1939 she married Albert L. Stetzer and they were married 71 years before his death in 2010.
Lucille loved spending time with her family; whether watching a sporting event or gathering for the holidays, she loved being part of their lives. She and Albert also had multiple opportunities to visit family in various locations throughout the United States and abroad. This gave them an excuse to enjoy a little traveling while visiting the ones they loved.
Lucille was a lady who led by example and never believed in gossiping about others. These traits helped her to be a very beneficial office employee at the Riddell Company and Crawford County ASC Office, where she spent 20 plus years and retired from in 1982.
Lucille was very supportive of her husband’s community involvement and they were longtime members of Woodlawn United Methodist Church. She bowled in a league for many years and following retirement, Lucille learned to play the organ. Lucille also loved the weekly card parties with her sisters and friends.
She is survived by three children, Tom (Emily) Stetzer of Wellston, Ohio, Carolyn (Douglas) Bartlett of St. Louis, Mo. and Lyle Sr. (Terri) Stetzer of Loveland, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Tom (Susan) Stetzer, Scott (Suzanne) Bartlett, Todd (Carin) Bartlett, Kirsten (Wilson) Mask, Cindy Stetzer, Lyle Stetzer, Jr. and Eric Stetzer. Also surviving are 11 great grandchildren, Jack, Max, Natalie, Carson, Gabriella, Alexander, Gavin, Brice, Lorelei, Audrey and James; one brother-in-law, Frank Stetzer of Columbus; two sisters-in-law, Lois (Harold) Brewer of rural Bucyrus and Jean Sponseller of North Carolina and many nieces and nephews.
Lucille is preceded in death by five brothers, Chester, Russell, Harold, William and Howard Sponseller and three sisters, Helen Heinlen, Joyce Lust and Marian Shupp.
