Lois L. Zucker

Lois L. Zucker, 86, of Bucyrus, went to be with the Lord Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Riverside Methodist Hospital.

She was born February 6, 1926 in Bucyrus to the late Arthur R. and Nellie E. (Learch) Reiff. She was a 1944 graduate of Holmes Liberty High School and was previously married to Virgil E. Zucker. Lois cared for her children as a homemaker and also worked at various places including; Morris Store, Swan Rubber, Whetstone School, Colby Manufacturing, and Petty's Hallmark before retiring.

Retirement meant more time to shop, which is what Lois loved to do. Whether alone or with her daughter, there were always items to be purchased. She was always in attendance for her grandchildren's programs or athletic events and she was proud to have received the Bucyrus 12th Man Award and the Aunt of the Year award from the First Alliance Church. Other things that made Lois happy included sitting around a campfire; having family reunions and hosting Christmas and other holidays at her home where she enjoyed cooking for others.

Lois welcomed Christ into her heart at a young age and was rededicated in 2011. She was a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church and had recently attended the Bucyrus First Alliance Church. She was a member of the King's Daughters and Sons, the Travel Club, Mother's Club and the Crawford County Community Concert Association.

She is survived by two children, Brant (Lynn) Zucker of Marion and Yvonne (Scott) Harvey of Bucyrus; five grandchildren, Benjamin Zucker, Joshua Zucker, Jonathan Zucker, Nicholas Harvey and Nathan Harvey in addition to numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert E. Reiff and her sister, Helen M. Ackerman.

Her family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 23 at the Wise Funeral Service. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the First Alliance Church in Bucyrus, 1955 Hopley Ave., where friends may also call one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will follow the funeral in Nevada Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be given to Maplecrest Assisted Living through the funeral home.
