Linda Marie Vaughan, 49, of Galion died Saturday afternoon, July 7, 2012 from complications of cancer.
She was born June 25, 1963 in Mansfield to the late Bernard Snyder and June (Swank) Snyder-Coffman. She graduated with the Bucyrus High School class of 1981 and went on to earn her Associate's from Marion Tech. She worked as a registered nurse and earned her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Ashland University in 2006. Linda married the love of her life, Gary Vaughan, on May 25, 1996.
Gary survives Linda along with her daughter, Laci Marie (Matt) Balster of Dublin; stepchildren, Nick (Felicia) Vaughan of Orlando, Fla. and Katie (Josh) McDaniel of Bucyrus; grandchildren, Maxton and Colton Balster, Marcus and Aubre McDaniel and Peyton Vaughan; siblings, Todd (Lisa) Snyder of Shelby and Lisa A. Snyder-Matula of Milan; in-laws, Don (Carolyn) Vaughan and Joann Cline; sisters-in-law, Angie Stewart Burton, Stacey (Dan) Vaughan-Bute, Daphne Cline and Tracie Cline; nieces and nephews, Kristy, Matthew, Luke and Jacob Snyder, Mackenzie, Kyle and Adriana Matula, Travis (Shannon) Watson, Austin Burton, Adam and Mattie Stuckert, Braxton and Gwenyth Bute, Hayden Bute and Rowan Fowle; stepfather, David Coffman of Mansfield; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins; and many, many friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her mother, June (Jan. 23, 2012); father, Bernie (Dec. 1979) and grandparents, Fred and Velma Swank, Eleanor Snyder and Fred Snyder.
Linda lived life like there was no tomorrow, especially after her diagnosis in 2008. She loved scratching things off her bucket list and cherished every moment she got to spend with her family, especially the grandbabies that came in recent years. Linda loved having fun with family and friends, planning social events and family game nights. She was the life of the party wherever she went, never shy and loved the camaraderie she had with others. If Linda could wish one thing, it would be for those who knew her to have a good laugh and enjoy every moment.
Linda was a member of the Bucyrus Elks and Moose lodges and Gospel Baptist Church. Her nursing career took her to Norwalk, Bucyrus, Galion and Ashland. Linda also enjoyed her teaching experiences at MTC and Tri-Rivers in Marion. She took great pride in the care she gave her patients and loved the profession that she worked so hard to attain.
Per Linda's wishes, she will be cremated and friends are invited to a visitation at Wise Funeral Service in Bucyrus on Wednesday, July 11 from 2-8 p.m. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Gospel Baptist Church, S.R. 19, in Galion with Pastor Monty Trammel officiating.
