Elizabeth Marie "Libby" Hensley, 71, formerly of Bucyrus and residing in Crestline, slipped on her heavenly wings Sunday, July 7, 2013 after passing away peacefully in her home with her loving family all around her.
She was born May 28, 1942 in Sandusky Twp., Crawford County to the late Boyd and Sada (Gregory) Ginter. She attended Bucyrus City Schools before getting married and starting a family. Libby was a constant caregiver to friends and family. Everyone who knew her called Libby their sister, mom or grandma because she took them under her wings of wisdom.
Libby is survived by her children, Rebecca Cramer of Crestline, Retha Hensley of North Robinson and Josh Smith of Mansfield; grandchildren, Jessica (Jason) Moss, Jonathon Cramer and Tristan Cross; great grandchildren, Sadie and Jacob Moss and Eli Cramer; friend and former husband, John Hensley; siblings, Floyd Ginter of Upper Sandusky, Dorothy Alspach of Crestline and Alice Hussey of Celina along with several special nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Libby was preceded in death by her son, Curtis Hensley; brother, Lloyd Ginter; sisters, Nora and Mary Ann Ginter, Mona Perkins, Virginia Howard, Vera Hetrick; special nephew, JR Hensley and special niece, Carol Baker.
Libby loved being around people, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She threw awesome Halloween parties and was a great candy maker, in particular her buckeye candy and fudge. She loved a cold Pepsi and fresh fruit, especially oranges. Her family was most important to her. Although she had a stubborn streak, she wanted only the best for others and was happiest when differences were set aside and everyone enjoyed each other's company. When she was out and about, everyone knew they were expected to stop for any and all yard sales, always looking for a bargain "just in case someone might need it." When home, she worked outside gardening in her flower beds and inside, she watched The Young & the Restless, the Game Show Network and worked on Fill-In Puzzles.
Libby's family will receive friends on Thursday, July 11 from 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. at Wise Funeral Service in Bucyrus where the funeral will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ted Thomas officiating. She will then be laid to rest next to her son Curtis in Oakwood Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be given to Homecare Matters Hospice through the funeral home.
