Larry Edwin McLaughlin, 66, of Bucyrus, died Friday, September 28, 2018 at OSU Wexner Medical Center following a recent illness.
Larry was born November 6, 1951 in Bucyrus to the late Harry and Virginia McLaughlin. He attended school in Upper Sandusky and on March 7, 1970 married Minnie Doss who survives. Larry worked various jobs throughout his life and was lastly employed at Silverline in Marion.
He had a strong faith in the Lord and enjoyed worshipping at Church of God of Prophecy where he had served as an usher. Larry loved being actively involved in the lives of his grandchildren and was very proud of their accomplishments. He liked reading anything, especially his Bible. Earlier in life, he spent a lot of time fishing and hunting and for relaxation he could often be found in front of the TV cheering on his Buckeyes or watching his favorite shows, The Three Stooges, Walker Texas Ranger or Old Westerns. He will be remembered for his singing along with or humming music and he was always willing to share a good joke with others.
In addition to Minnie, his wife of 48 years, Larry is survived by two children, Tammy (Randy) Zornes of Bucyrus and Karl McLaughlin of Columbus; four grandchildren, Ashley Zornes, Allyson Zornes, Amber Zornes and Adalyn Zornes; three brothers, Bob McLaughlin, James (Rose) McLaughlin and Rick McLaughlin as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Don (Judy) McLaughlin and Tom McLaughlin.
A graveside funeral will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, October 2 at Oakwood Cemetery with Pastor Nathan Hale officiating. Friends and family are asked to meet at the cemetery.
Donations will be accepted through the funeral home to help offset expenses.
