Larry A. Crall

Larry Allen Crall, 70, died Sunday, February 7, 2016 at his residence following a lengthy battle with cancer.

He was born April 9, 1945 in Bucyrus to the late Richard and Mabel (Spiegel) Crall and was a member of the inaugural graduating class at Wynford High School in 1964. On October 28, 1967, he married Joyce A. Clay and they’ve enjoyed many adventures throughout their 48 years of marriage.

Larry will be remembered as an honest and easy going individual who knew no strangers and always tried making everyone’s life a little better. He worked at Timken for 37 years before retiring and then joined his brother, Chuck in helping out at Gebhardt Auctions, which was like a hobby to Larry.

Family was why Larry lived life. There were many summers spent relaxing at their lake cottage and they enjoyed many trips to the Outer Banks where he always sought out historical points of interest along the way. Larry loved watching his children participate in their sporting events and this carried over to supporting any of the Wynford boys or girls basketball teams, where he was always found sitting in the front row. Larry enjoyed watching Wynford football and one of his brightest moments was being a member of the “chain gang”. He was also a longtime supporter of the Wynford Athletic Boosters and served as president; was active as a 4-H Advisor and was always helpful at Scioto UMC with their Strawberry Festival and when it came time to work the fair gates for the church.

Larry is survived by his wife, Joyce; two children, Kraig Crall and Kristy (Philip) Wagner; two step-granddaughters, Evan and Cassandra Wagner; two brothers, Don (Marlene) Crall and James (Sue) Crall; one sister-in-law, Diana Crall; his mother-in-law, Earline Kershner ; two brothers-in-law, Ed (Janette) Kershner and Roger (Rhonda) Kershner; longtime family friend Helen Sedivy and family as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Larry is preceded in death by two brothers, Lyle Crall and Charles Crall; sister-in-law, Janet Crall; father-in-law, Edwin Kershner and a longtime family friend Donald Sedivy.

Larry’s family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Friday, February 12 at Scioto UMC, where his memorial service will begin that day at 11:00 a.m. Larry will be buried in Oakwood Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be given to Scioto UMC or to Wynford Athletic Boosters through the Wise Funeral Service or Friday morning at the church. Memories are encouraged to be shared by visiting his tribute page at www.wisefuneral.com.
