Lance L. Winemiller, 53, died Thursday, November 26, 2015 at his home with his family by his side.
He was born September 28, 1962 in Bucyrus and completed much of his schooling at Bucyrus before moving to North Little Rock, Arkansas where he graduated from Northeast High School. Lance went on to complete his associate’s degree in drafting and engineering in the state of Arizona, where he met his wife Maria whom he married in December of 1989. They lived in North Little Rock and then returned to his hometown of Bucyrus, Ohio in 1998 and he worked at Timken for a number of years. They moved out to the country so he could pursue his dream of opening an automotive repair shop as Lance loved working on automobiles but shortly thereafter, the experts at The OSU Wexner Medical Center diagnosed him with a rare condition known as Castlemans-Pemphigus Paraneoplastic disease and his abilities were limited since.
Lance will be remembered for his unique smirk and he cherished the many hours spent working on cars with close friends Allen Reed, Joe Soto, Mike Cooper and Steve Garberick. His best friends he kept in touch with are Chuck Boaz, Eric McNespy, Greg Hickey and Bo Reed. Lance always had a smile when his nieces Shelbi, Skylar and Sheena Parsons came to visit him in the hospital many times. Lance spent a lot of time in Arizona with family, friends, and one of his smallest friends, his niece, Lita Reed. He had a nice model car collection and he like to unwind to TV Land shows, with The Andy Griffith Show being a favorite.
He is survived by his best friend, the love of his life, wife Maria M. Winemiller; two sons, Dustin Winemiller and Joshua Winemiller; four grandchildren, Brayden, Brysen, Bentley and Graycen. He is survived by his mother, Connie (Shingledecker) Randall and also by his father and mother-in-law, Allen and Monnie Reed; two brothers, Link Baker and his wife Lori and Troy Winemiller and his wife Sharon; and his stepdad, Neil Baker of North Little Rock. Lance was preceded in death by his dad, Harold “Lanny” Winemiller.
Cremation services were entrusted to the staff of Wise Funeral Service and friends are encouraged to visit Lance’s Tribute Wall at www.wisefuneral.com and share a favorite memory. Donations will be accepted at Wise Funeral Service, 129 W. Warren St., Bucyrus, Ohio 44820 to help Maria offset the many expenses that have accumulated.
Lance’s ashes will be scattered in Arizona.
