Kermit C. Walcutt, 83, of Bucyrus, died Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Heartland of Bucyrus.
He was born January 30, 1930 in Benton to the late Ralph and Eva (Carl) Walcutt and was a 1948 graduate of Holmes Liberty High School. That same year on December 29 he married Margaret Frost who survives.
Kermit served in the US Navy from 1948-52, returned home and worked at Swan Rubber for 46 years until retiring in 1994. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and liked going on camping trips throughout various states.
In addition to Margaret, his wife of 64 years, Kermit is survived by three daughters, Sheri Schiefer of Bucyrus, Charlene (Ed) Rowland of New Washington and Wendy Grimmer of Bahama, NC; six grandchildren, four of whom are, Troy Moritz, Dawn (Brad) Donahue, Eric (Amber) Schiefer and Jeremy (Melanie) Schiefer; along with ten great grandchildren. Kermit is preceded in death by his son, Terry Walcutt and a son-in-law, Don Grimmer.
His family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 12 noon Monday, February 11 at Wise Funeral Service where funeral services will be held that day beginning at 12 noon with Mark Dettmer, Certified Celebrant officiating. Burial will follow in Brokensword Cemetery where full military rites will be provided by both the US Navy and American Legion Post 181 Honor Guards.
Memorial contributions may be given to HomeCare Matters Hospice or the American Cancer Society through the funeral home.
