Kennedy Clare Sharrock II, MD, 45 of Columbus, died peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends on Sunday, October 28, 2018 after an 18 month long battle with Glioblastoma Multiforme. Born December 9, 1972 in Bucyrus, Ohio, son of the late Kennedy C. Sharrock I and Wanda (Williams) Sharrock who survives in Bucyrus.
Kennedy was a 1991 graduate of Bucyrus High School and went on to attend The Ohio State University where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Slavic Languages & Literature in 1994. He continued his education, receiving his Master’s degree in Journalism from Saint Petersburg State University, eventually returning to the U.S. to earn his Doctorate of Medicine from The Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine in Rootstown, Ohio in 2000.
During his career he worked for the Mount Carmel Health System in Columbus, Ohio as a Hospitalist/Critical Care Physician and spent two years in Kailua Kona, Hawaii as an Internal Medicine Physician and Interim Medical Director at the Kailua Kona Outreach Clinic.
He is survived by his wife Heather (Hilliard) Sharrock; his children, whom he considered to be his biggest accomplishments, Kennedy Clare III and Marlowe Darby; sisters, C. Aaron Wilson and Shannon Dutton; nieces, Kaiden and Raven; nephews, Keenan, Connor and Deacon; and many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins on the Sharrock and Williams side.
A private gathering will occur at a later date. Those who wish may contribute to The Charlie Foundation in Kennedy's name and checks will be accepted through Wise Funeral Service, 129 W. Warren St., Bucyrus, Ohio.
