Kate P. Fall

Kate P. Fall, 92, of Bucyrus and formerly of Laurel, Mississippi died Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at Maplecrest Assisted Living.

She was born June 2, 1919 in Philadelphia, Miss. to the late Charlie B. and Ruth (Poole) Pilgrim. Kate lived most of her life in Laurel where she cared for her family as a homemaker and also used her abilities to run some successful businesses of her own.

Kate was a very business-like lady and respected people who followed through with commitments made. She also was not afraid to speak her mind, and this made her who she was.

She was a member of the Second Ave. Baptist Church in Laurel and she enjoyed working in her flower garden, fishing (in her younger years) and quilting and crocheting.

Kate is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Joanne (Richard) Strickland of Bucyrus; three grandchildren, Dr. R. Todd (Dr. Becky) Strickland of Bucyrus, Kelly Strickland (Wendy Mitchell) of Madison, Wisc., J. Micah Strickland of Bucyrus; two great grandchildren, Samantha and Delaney Strickland of Bucyrus; and one brother, Frank (Judy) Pilgrim of Laurel.

Preceding her in death are her son, Don W. Fall and sister, Nettie Odom.

Funeral services for Kate will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 4 at Wise Funeral Service, 129 W. Warren St., Bucyrus, Ohio 44820 with Chaplain Dan Clouse officiating. Friends are invited to visit with her family one hour prior to the funeral and burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to Maplecrest Assisted Living or Southern Care Hospice through the funeral home.
