Julie Kay Davis, 59, of Bucyrus, died, Saturday, March 3, 2018 following some recent health issues.



She was delivered by her father, the late, Don Junior Powers at their home in Bucyrus on June 7, 1958 and is survived by her mother, Rachel Pauline (Williams) Powers. Julie was a 1977 graduate of Col. Crawford and on February 14, 1987, she married Rodger D. Davis who survives.



Julie was a hard-working individual and in addition to raising her family, she held jobs at Big Lots, Geyer’s, Kroger and lastly was employed at Innovative Support Services where she helped make a difference in the lives of many individuals she cared for.



Julie had a big heart for all animals and if possible, she’d have owned a giraffe, as they were her favorite. She dabbled in photography and enjoyed watching NASCAR, specifically following Kyle Petty and Tony Stewart. Julie was a member of the AMVETS and VFW 1078 where she enjoyed socializing with friends and for relaxation, she could be found playing Facebook games, reading or listening to classic rock music, with Bad Co. and Pink Floyd being her favorites.



In addition to Rodger, her husband of 31 years, Julie is survived by her son, Cody (Hailey Alspach) Davis; step-son, Jesse Davis; siblings, Edward (Fran) Powers, Paul (Sherry) Powers, Margaret (Larry Charlton) Powers, Don Jay Powers and Alison (Alan) Spence; a brother-in-law, Darrell Davis as well as many nieces and nephews.



She was preceded in death by siblings, Joseph Powers, Robin Powers and Michael Powers; nephew, Chad Zier; great niece, Alexa Powers; two sisters-in-law, Dixie Yetter and Doris Ann Russell and her father and mother-in-law, Willard and Hattie (Dunn) Davis.



No public services will be held for Julie but if friends wish to do something in her memory, gifts can be made payable to Humane Society Serving Crawford County or to the American Heart Association. These donations will be accepted through Wise Funeral Service, who assisted with her cremation arrangements.
