Judith A. McDonald

Judith Ann McDonald, 78, died Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at her home where she was surrounded by family.

She was born December 31, 1938 in Galion to the late Carl and Marjorie (Coleman) Pensinger. Judy was a 1956 graduate of Galion HS and that same year married the love of her life, Charles D. “Mac” McDonald. They were married for nearly 54 years before his death in 2010.

Judy was a nurturing woman who always put the needs of others ahead of her own. She was devoted to caring for her husband and children as a homemaker and as her children grew older, she worked at Conley’s, retiring when her husband did so they could experience life together. They enjoyed travels to Pennsylvania; watched Indians, Browns and OSU football together and were very active in anything their grandchildren were involved with. “Grandma McJudy” as referred to by her little ones, loved when they would rub her back and they were always “paid handsomely” for their efforts. There were many games of Scrabble and Yahtzee and Judy’s day wasn’t complete without completing her daily crossword puzzle. She enjoyed Ohio Lottery scratch off games, an occasional trip to a casino and liked playing BINGO.

Judy is survived by three children, Julie Dyer, Doug (Donna) McDonald and Dereck McDonald; three grandchildren, Collin (Rachel) Dyer, Lindsey (Jarvis) Branstetter and Clay McDonald; six great grandchildren, Cole, Caleb, Owen, Carsten, CalLee and Lydia; five siblings, Carl, Bob and Ronnie Pensinger, Cathi Leonhardt and Bambi Ehasz as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by one brother, Guy Pensinger.

A private inurnment will be held in Whetstone Cemetery at a later date. Judy loved her family and animals, so it would be very fitting that contributions be made payable to either, NFT North Carolina Transplant Fund by check or online at http://www.transplants.org/ to benefit her great nephew, Nathan Pensinger who is in need of a five-organ transplant or to the Humane Society Serving Crawford County. These donations will be accepted through Wise Funeral Service, who assisted with her arrangements.
