John H. Bargar, Sr., 66, of Bucyrus died Friday, March 31, 2017 at his residence. His death was unexpected but John had suffered various health related issues.
Johnny, as he was referred by many was a lifelong resident born September 28, 1950 to the late Charles H. and Marguriete C. (Brown) Bargar. He married Marilyn M. Eidson on June 15, 1974 and she survives.
He was a very headstrong individual who strove to care for his family. He worked a short time at Swan Rubber and Fleetwood in Crestline before hiring in with Conrail where he worked as a foreman until back issues forced him into disability. Johnny liked to keep on the go and often took Tank, his four legged companion with him. He enjoyed following his grandchildren with their sporting events, had a passion for older cars and enjoyed working in his yard. He often cooked meals for his family and was always searching for a new and unique concoction to try. For down time he liked watching old westerns and playing online computer games with Texas Hold’em being a favorite.
In addition to Marilyn, his wife of nearly 43 years and Tank, his dog, John is survived by two children, Christol Sims and Justin Bargar and fiancée, Lori Oates all of Bucyrus; eight grandchildren, Keegan and Kadin Sims, Justice Dye, Mekayla, Josalyn, Madison, Landon and Dekota Bargar and one great grandson, Braylen Bargar. Also surviving are four siblings, Cliff Yaney, Alvin (Vera) Yaney, Judy Hensley and Mary Brown as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and one brother-in-law, Marvin Rigney.
John was preceded in death by his son, John Bargar, II; seven siblings, Joseph Yaney, Don Yaney, Charles Bargar, Jimmy Bargar, Charlene Bloomfield, Joyce Ann Bargar and Paula Sue Rigney; one sister-in-law, Jane Yaney and one brother-in-law, Raymond “Ray” Brown.
His family will receive friends from 4-6:15 p.m. Wednesday, April 5 at Wise Funeral Service where his funeral will begin that evening at 6:30 p.m. with Bishop Ted Thomas officiating. A private burial take place at a later date in Crawford County Memory Gardens.
Donations may be given to the Humane Society serving Crawford County through the funeral home.
