Jennifer Lynn Irby, 63, of Bucyrus died Friday, December 8, 2017 at her home after recent health concerns.
She was born July 9, 1954 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Hardy and Dolores (Campion) Irby, both of whom preceded her in death earlier this year. The Irby family moved to Bucyrus in 1959 and Jennifer graduated from Bucyrus High School. She attended The Ohio State University and later earned an Associate’s Degree in Art from the University of Phoenix. Jennifer worked at Whirlpool in Marion in maintenance before finishing her career working for Kroger in Bucyrus.
Jennifer was a fiercely independent woman who would rather fix things herself and seldom needed help. No job was too big, be it electrical, plumbing, or general maintenance. She also played piano and had a very busy craft room with several projects from knitting, to crocheting, to various paintings going on at the same time. Outside of the home, she used to enjoy bowling and was a great caretaker for her parents as they advanced in age.
Jennifer will be remembered by her family as a generous person who lived to do what was right. She told all who would listen how proud she was of her son and his family. She adored her granddaughters and was looking forward to seeing them this winter.
Jennifer is survived by her son, Ryan (Wynne) Irby of Chandler, Arizona; granddaughters, Serena and Jada; friend, companion, and caretaker, Fred Sarog of Bucyrus; brothers, Mark Irby of Supply, North Carolina and Cory (Karen) Irby of Lynn Haven, Florida; and her nephew and nieces.
Though no services are being held, you can remember Jennifer with a donation to the Crawford County Arts Council that will be received through Wise Funeral Service, 129 W. Warren St., Bucyrus, Ohio 44820. Memories and photos can be shared on Jennifer’s Tribute Wall.
