Jennie R. (Shumaker) Thomas

Jennie R. (Shumaker) Thomas, 39, of Marion, died Sunday, March 13, 2011 at Partners of Marion Nursing Center following a lengthy illness.

She was born January 6, 1972 in Bucyrus and graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1990. Jennie then went on to receive her associate degree in social work from NCTC in Mansfield. On May 10, 2008 she married Frank W. Thomas who survives.

In addition to her husband, Jennie is also survived by her daughter, Allyiah Thomas; her father, Rodney Shumaker and wife Marsha of Bucyrus; two brothers, Andy Shumaker and Donald Shumaker; step-grandparents, Lloyd and Wanda Daiber as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Preceding her in death are her mother, Lewana Shumaker; grandparents, Taylor and Lola Adkins, Raymond and Edith Shumaker and Bonnie Daiber and an infant brother, Paul Shumaker.

Jennie had worked at RAM in Marion. She attended church at Dayspring Wesleyan Church in Marion and the Church of Christ in Christian Union in Bucyrus. She enjoyed listening to music, dancing, working with flowers and baking.

Friends may call from 5 – 8 PM Thursday, March 17 at Wise Funeral Service. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at the Church of Christ in Christian Union, 521 Kaler Ave., Bucyrus, Ohio 44820 with Pastor Bob Jividen and Rev. George Lore, Jr. officiating. Friends may also call one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be at Crawford County Memory Gardens. Contributions may be made payable to Frank to help with expenses and given through the funeral home.
