Jeffrey S. Bond

Jeffrey S. Bond, 50, of Bucyrus, died January 31, 2013 at Bucyrus Community Hospital following a lengthy illness.

He was born September 16, 1962 in London, Ohio to the late Franklin "Dee" and Ruth (Harper) Bond. Jeff grew up in Portsmouth and moved to Bucyrus in the early 1980's where he met his future wife, Beth A. Bowersox when she and a friend knocked on the wrong apartment door. They hit it off and on September 16, 1984 they married. Jeff and Beth had 28 wonderful years of marriage until her death in August of 2012. Beth and Jeff enjoyed traveling especially when it meant visiting family.

Jeff was a fun and easy going guy who loved to joke around. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandson. He kept busy working on his '52 Ford truck with the help of his son, Nathan and when the opportunity arose; trips were planned on his Harley with family and friends. He traveled Ohio and was planning a ride to Sturgis, SD for the annual rally.

He is survived by three children, Ashley (Nathan) Bloomfield, Nathan Bond and Brittany (Jordon) Pool all of Bucyrus; one grandson, Cayden Pool; four brothers, Russ (Kristi) Bond of Upper Sandusky, Charlie (Vickie) Bond of Portsmouth, Tim (Kim) Bond and Danny (Pam) Bond both of Bucyrus; four sisters, Barbara (Bobby) Byrnes, Penny (Steve) Corder and Connie Bond all of Bucyrus and Lisa (Mike) Brown of Portsmouth along with many nieces and nephews.

Jeff worked at Checkmate and Baja before starting A and B Construction and then worked at Eagle Crusher until his health no longer allowed. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in N. Robinson and he will be missed by many family and friends.

No public services will be held and contributions may be given to the Wise Funeral Service to assist with expenses.
