Jean Freeman, 80, of Bucyrus, passed away peacefully at Legacy of Bucyrus after declining health due to Alzheimer’s.
Jean was born on January 17, 1945 in Bucyrus to the late James D. and Lola L. (Bryant) Denton. She spent a number of years working at Swan, Timken and enjoyed conversing with customers at the Rail, where she worked as a bartender.
Jean will be remembered as a friendly and outgoing person; however she could be a little ornery times. In her earlier years, she enjoyed bowling and has always been up for a night of playing BINGO. She spent many weekends camping, and Foxfire was a favorite spot. Jean came from a vocal family who spent several years singing in area churches, and they were fortunate to have recorded a 45 rpm record.
Jean is survived by children, Ray Eidson and Lisa (Mark) Glendinning; six grandchildren; her twin brother, James (Genieva) Denton as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Mark Eidson; daughter-in-law, Angie Eidson; two grandchildren and four siblings.
A celebration of life gathering will be held from 12 – 3 pm on Saturday, March 1 at the VFW 1078 Annex, located on Amvet Wy, behind the VFW. If desired, donations can be made payable to either the Alzheimer’s Association or to the National Kidney Foundation. These gifts will be accepted through Wise Funeral Service and expressions of sympathy are encouraged to be shared on her guestbook page at www.wisefuneral.com.
