J. Todd Zornes, 33 of Columbus, died Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at University Hospital East in Columbus following an extended illness.
Todd was born July 20, 1979 in Morehead, Kentucky the son of Leon and Linda (Ash) Zornes who both reside in Bucyrus. He attended the Olive Hill Nazarene Church in his youth and graduated from West Carter High School in Olive Hill, Kentucky class of 1997. He attended college at Morehead State University where he was a proud member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. In 2000, his family moved to Bucyrus where Todd worked as a manager at Aeropostale in Mansfield. He's resided in Columbus for the past six years and has enjoyed time with his partner and best friend, Dave Devine and his special pets, Princess, Disney and Bianca. He and Dave loved their many trips to Disney World and all that went with it. From cruises to the Magic Kingdom, they have experienced it all.
Todd had fun and enjoyed life. Anyone who met Todd was a friend. He always cared about and put others before himself and who can forget that robust laugh of his? He was proud to be a 4.0 student at Franklin University where he was majoring in human resources and was looking ahead to graduate school so that he could continue helping others. He enjoyed relaxing to an episode of Glee and loved attending Broadway Shows in Columbus, with Wicked being his favorite. Todd loved making others happy and he will be missed by his many friends and family members.
In addition to his parents and partner, Todd is survived by three brothers, Michael Zornes of San Francisco, Jonathan Zornes and partner, Shawn Compton of Columbus and David Zornes and wife, Renee Daniel Zornes of New Washington; two nieces, Spencer and Jordyn and a nephew, Karsen. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Todd's family will receive friends from 3-7 p.m. Saturday, November 3 at Wise Funeral Service, 129 W. Warren St., Bucyrus, Ohio 44820 where funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday with Pastor Bob Jividen officiating. A graveside memorial service will be held in Morgan Cemetery in Lewis County, Kentucky at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be given to Franklin University through the funeral home.
