Jane Louise Miller

Jane Louise Miller, 96, died unexpectedly Wednesday February 27, 2013 at her home in Bucyrus. She was born July 20, 1916, in Sycamore to the late Frederick H. and Naamah (Ludwig) Case.

Jane was married to Chalmer M. Miller September 21, 1935. They shared 71 wonderful years before his death in 2006. Jane is survived by a daughter, JoAnn (Yaussy) Greiner of Mentor and a son, John T. (Marcy) Miller of Bucyrus; five grandchildren, Greg Yaussy of Pataskala, Sue (Tim) Surber of Fishers, Ind., Becky (George) Warnock of Mentor, Beth (fiancée Kevin Cotsmire) Gledhill of Leesville, Dan (Deana) Miller of Nevada; 13 great-grandchildren; several nephews and niece; and a special cousin, Jeanne Curlis of Sycamore.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Sweigard and a brother, Phil Case.

For 70 years, Jane was a faithful member of St. Johns U.C.C. church where she served on the consistory, taught Sunday School, served as Sunday School pianist until her death, sang in the church choir for over 40 years, was a member of the Ever Faithful Sunday School class and the Women's Guild.

During her 75 years in Bucyrus, she was involved and active in many organizations including the Girl Scouts of America, Council on Aging, Community Concert Association, Hospital Auxiliary, Child Conservation League, and the International Order of King's Daughters and Sons.

She worked several years at Norton's Greenhouse and nearly 30 years as office receptionist for Carl J. Ide, MD.

Jane's family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, March 8 at Wise Funeral Service. A memorial service for Jane will be held at 11:00 a.m Saturday, March 9 at St. John's U.C.C. with the Reverend Steve Voelker officiating. She will be buried in Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to St. John's U.C.C or Maplecrest Assisted Living.
