Helen L. Keller

Helen L. Keller, 76, of Bucyrus, died Saturday, August 4, 2012 at Altercare of Bucyrus.

She was born October 20, 1935 in Squire, W.Va. to the late Carl and Pearl (Rose) Pruett and was a 1953 graduate of Sparta High School. On May 28, 1955 she married her high school sweetheart, J. Robert "Bob" Keller who survives.

Moving to Bucyrus in 1959, Helen was a protective and loving mother who kept one of the cleanest homes in the county. She loved cooking for her family and her children knew that when the whistle blew, they were to return home for dinner. In addition to caring for her family as a homemaker, Helen worked for 20 years at Burcliff Industries where she served as a Quality Control Manager and retired in 1998.

Helen loved watching her children and grandchildren at their various sporting events and other activities. Along with cooking, Helen enjoyed baking and looked forward to the annual family reunions. Helen was a member of the Bucyrus United Methodist Church and enjoyed solving word finds.

In addition to her husband, Bob, of 57 years, Helen is survived by a daughter, Connie S. Kiser and husband Chip of Grand Blanc, Mich. and their children, Kellen and Jace and step-children, Kevin Kiser and Michelle Harmon; and a son, Jay W. Keller and wife Tamy of Bucyrus and their children, Zachary, Jordan and Emily. Helen is also survived by one sister, Elizabeth Brown of Mt. Airy, Md.

Besides her parents, Helen is preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 7 at Wise Funeral Service, 129 W. Warren St., Bucyrus, Ohio 44820 where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday with Pastor Mike Corwin officiating. A graveside committal service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday in Bloomfield Cemetery, 791 County Road 204, Centerburg, Ohio 43011.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer's Association through the funeral home.
