Harold E. Moore, 84, died Monday, December 14, 2020 at OSU Wexner Medical Center from complications of Covid-19.
He was born in Crooksville, Ohio on May 12, 1936, the youngest of nine children, to the late Harvey and Bessie (Cavinee) Moore. After graduating from high school, Harold made his way to Mansfield where he worked for Borg‐Warner. He then worked for UPS where he was proud to have had a perfect driving record for his entire 33-year career when he retired.
Harold will be remembered for his dependability, honesty, good heart, and as an all-around great guy. He was a master carpenter who took great care in in his own home renovations and helping his family and friends. He was raised in a home of faith and rekindled his relationship with his Lord and Savior over the past 18 years as an active member of the Pentecostal Tabernacle of Oceola. He was a gifted musician and played in churches and bands including the Country Travelers.
Harold was a loyal patron of Carolyn’s Kitchen, loved talking with people, taking long drives, and enjoyed hunting and the outdoors. He adored his family and looked forward to every gathering whether it was with his children and grandkids or large family reunions in Perry County.
Harold is survived by his children, Greg (Beth) Moore, Amy Williams (fiancé Sean Lotz), Todd (Nicole) Moore, and Kristi Sullivan; grandchildren, Josh Moore, Blake Moore, Chuck (Melissa) Williams, Kayleigh (Paul) Circle, Mackenzie Williams, Wesley Williams (fiancée Laney Mollenkopf), Zacchary Moore, Alexx Moore, and Tyler Sullivan; six great grandchildren; sister, Jean Swain; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Rollin Moore, Elmer Moore, Pearl Moore, Lela Bobo, Rozella Hartley, Lucille Brandau, and John Moore.
The Moore family will join friends at his graveside in Oceola Cemetery (Marion-Melmore Road) on Friday, December 18 where his funeral will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Carl Angel officiating.
In lieu of flowers, please be considerate of others as Covid-19 is spreading at an alarming rate and has taken another otherwise healthy person far sooner than necessary. Mask up and wash your hands regularly. Those who wish can make donations payable to Pentecostal Tabernacle Church and give through Wise Funeral Service, 129 W. Warren St., Bucyrus, Ohio 44820.
Memories and photos can be shared on Harold’s Tribute Wall.
