Grace Jeannette Harris-Nichols was called to Heaven Monday evening, October 18, 2021 at OSU Wexner Medical Center.
Grace was born July 1, 1993 to Scott and Jennifer (Schiefer) Harris. Jennifer was called to heaven October 27, 1996. A short time later Grace was blessed with a new Mother, Anita (Smith) Harris, who has loved and claimed her as her own for the past 25 years.
Grace grew up on the outskirts of Bucyrus, Ohio with her three sisters and brother. She was a member of the Wynford Color Guard, Royal Singers, Senior Choir, and 4-H. Upon her graduation from Wynford High School in 2012, Grace put her love of music and children to use by becoming a member of the musical ministry team, Encounter Revival Ministries. Through that ministry God used her musical gifts to bless people throughout the states, even reaching as far as Africa. Through those two years traveling, she touched the lives of so many people, making friendships that last even to this day.
Upon ending her time with ERM, Grace attended the State Beauty Academy. It was here that Grace found her passion for cosmetology. Grace loved helping people feel beautiful. It gave her the opportunity to show people what she saw in them. Grace always saw the best in people. She found great joy working in retail for Amish Vault and Graceful Gifts. Going to work, helping the patrons there was another way she touched the lives of so many. She was a hairstylist, makeup artist, and nail technician at Angles Salon. Anyone who sat in her chair knew that Grace not only cared but loved them. She loved her Salon Girls!
Grace was a faithful attendee and worship team member at Bucyrus First Church of the Nazarene. Grace was so talented, and she used those talents for the Lord. She loved music; singing was how she praised God. She lived out Matthew 5:16. Grace’s greatest joy in life was falling in love with Jeremy Nichols, her fiancé. The love that she had for him was all consuming; she took great pleasure in broadcasting her love for him. Grace and Jeremy were to be married October 23, 2021. After Jeremy, Grace loved her niece Maura above anyone else. She loved being “Auntie Gacie” and spent many a day showering Maura with gifts, love, and attention.
Grace was a shining light. To know her was to love her, and to love her was a gift. Grace boldly took on the challenge of leaving this world better than she found it. Every person that met her left her in better spirits. She loved with her whole heart, evidenced by the mark she’s left on the hearts of all who knew her.
Grace is survived by her loving fiancé, Jeremy Nichols; parents, Scott and Anita Harris; siblings Bethany Harris, Marianne Harris, Gretchen Keller (husband Seth and daughter Maura), and Nathanael Harris; grandparents, Allan Schiefer, Earl and Joan (Stuckman) Smith, and Martha (Kocher) Smith; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Jennifer Harris; grandparents, Sandra (Linn) Schiefer, Boyden and Judy (Burleson) Harris; great grandparents, Ernest Maynard and Frankie Burleson, Dorsey J. and Edith Linn, Mary Harris, Nathan Woodrow, and Warren Smith amongst other loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Grace’s family will receive friends from 1-3 and 5-7 pm Thursday, October 21 at Bucyrus Nazarene Church, where her celebration of life service will be held at 12 Noon Friday with Pastor Ray LaSalle officiating. Burial will follow in Brokensword Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made payable to Bucyrus Nazarene Church. A foundation will be made with the funds in Grace’s honor to further the Light of Christ through her testimony. Donations will be accepted at the church or Wise Funeral Service.
Memories and photos are encouraged on Grace’s Tribute Wall.
