Eleanor K. Beck

Eleanor K. Beck, 89, of Bucyrus died early Friday morning, July 1, 2016 at Altercare of Bucyrus where she has resided in recent years.



She was born in Galion on November 3, 1926 to the late Clarence E. Price and Margaret I. (Schwartz) Price Dawson. She attended school in Galion and was working at McNews Restaurant where she met a cook named Harry West Beck. They were married on December 24, 1947 and he preceded her in death in 1981.



Eleanor enjoyed feeding birds and put together countless jigsaw puzzles over her lifetime. She and Harry enjoyed playing cards with family and she always loved having her family visit. She seldom missed her favorite soap operas and walking was her favorite mode of transportation regardless of the distance.



Eleanor is survived by four children, Emilie (Donald) McNeil of Akron, Margaret Ohler of Bucyrus, Naomi (Jeff) Binkley of Clyde, and Joseph (Catherine) Beck of Bucyrus; nine grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; sister, Janet K. Johnson of Galion; brother, Ken F. Price of Tennessee; and close friend, William Simmermacher.



In addition to her parents and husband of 33 years, she was preceded in death by daughter, Betty B. Beck; brothers, Robert E., Bill, and John “Jack” Price; and sisters, Dorothy Rensch, Avis M. Parr, Jane Monk, and Shirley A. Skaggs.



Eleanor’s funeral will be Tuesday, July 5 at 4:00 pm at Wise Funeral Service, 129 W. Warren St. in Bucyrus where her family will receive friends two hours prior, from 2-4 pm.
