Eldon J. Beidelschies, 64, of Bucyrus died naturally and unexpectedly Monday, October 7, 2013 in the Bucyrus Community Hospital E.R.

He was born November 23, 1948 in Bucyrus to the late Robert and Luella (Passet) Beidelschies. Eldon and his wife, Susan raised their children on the same family farm where he was raised. In 1966, he graduated from Wynford High School lettering in baseball, football and basketball. After high school, he attended Capital University in Columbus and excelled on the football team. During his college life, while working at Heidelberg North, he met an OSU student from Florida named Susan Schlayer, "the love of his life." They were married February 12, 1972 and moved to the Bucyrus area where Eldon worked for and retired from The Timken Co., farmed and was a member of Moose Lodge 1093 in Upper Sandusky.

Eldon was a hardworking and supportive husband, father and friend who lived by the motto, "It does no good to complain." In addition to his love a farming, he was a skillful woodworker making the furniture for his home, cradles and paddles for The Picking Co.'s kettles, quilt racks and other projects for friends and family. Being an avid outdoorsman; he enjoyed hunting and spending time in the woods developing a love and appreciation for hardwood trees prevalent in the 'Buckeye' state. Eldon was a life member of the NRA and enjoyed traveling to Alaska, Colorado, West Virginia, Florida and Taiwan.

Eldon loved his family with all his heart. He coached Little League and supported his daughter in 4-H. Visiting his son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren in Taiwan were special memories in his life. Bucyrian grandson, Mason and 'grandpa Eldon' made numerous "to the trees" (woods) on the four wheeler. Eldon never met a stranger and would do anything for someone in need; including giving the gift of himself as an organ and tissue donor.

Eldon is survived by his bride of 41 years, Susan Beidelschies; son, Theron (Chi Ying) Beidelschies of Taipei, Taiwan; daughter, Lindsay (Bob) Rowe of Bucyrus; three grandchildren, Paige and Zoe Beidelschies and Mason Rowe; brother, Richard (Betty) Beidelschies of Grand Junction, Colo.; sister-in-law, Christie (George) Baro; nieces and nephews, Lorrie (Jesse) Decle, Zack (Tanya) Baro, Rich (Mary) Beidelschies and Rod Beidelschies; one living aunt, Colleen Beidelschies; numerous cousins and his close friends, Bruce Dunn with whom he farmed and fellow woodworker, Dan Johnson.

In addition to his parents, Eldon was preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly Ruth Beidelschies.

The Beidelschies family will receive friends Friday, October 11 from 4-7:00 p.m. at Wise Funeral Service in Bucyrus where the funeral will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Fred Rowe officiating.
