Edwin R. Shroll

Edwin Ray Shroll, 80, of Oceola, died Monday, January 25, 2021 at OSU Ross Heart Hospital following a brief illness.



Ed was born on November 27, 1940 in Bucyrus to the late Carl and Iva (Wages) Shroll. He graduated from Holmes Liberty High School and then went onto earn his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Ohio University. He spent several years working at a steel processing plant in Steubenville before returning to Bucyrus where he finished his work career at Baja.



Ed loved tinkering with anything mechanical and he thoroughly enjoyed working on his collection of automobiles acquired throughout his life. He was handy when it came to repairing things around the home and he was grateful for the opportunity of being able to provide care for his parents when their health wasn’t the greatest.



Ed is survived by brothers, Don Shroll of Oceola and Gary (Joyce) Shroll of Oregon City, Oregon; nephew, Josh (Kris) Shroll; niece, Erin Shroll; cousins with whom he was close, Robert Loy, Marjorie Brock, Norma Wages Lavonne Vaughn and Chester Wages.

Should public wish to attend in person, his service will begin at 1:30 pm Tuesday, February 2 at Wise Funeral Service with Pastor Mike Corwin officiating. Friends are invited to gather one hour prior to his funeral and burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Masks will be required while attending any services.



Donations can be made payable to the Humane Society Serving Crawford County or a charity of the donor’s choice. These gifts will be accepted through the funeral home and expressions of sympathy can be shared on his tribute page.
