Edith M. Greissing, 100, of Florida, died Friday, October 5, 2012 at the Florida Hospital in Orlando.

She was born February 9, 1912 in Bucyrus to the late George and Viola (Campbell) Young. Edith graduated from Bucyrus High School and on January 27, 1934 married Edward C. Greissing who preceded her in death on April 22, 1986. She spent 30 plus years working for BF Goodrich in Akron and she and Edward lived in the Akron area while working. Following retirement, they moved to Florida to be close to their son and grandchildren.

Edith was an avid bowler who was still bowling at age 93. She had a special place in her heart for animals and will be missed by Titan and Sammie Jo, the family dogs.

She is survived by a son, Donald Greissing and wife, Regenna of Chuluota, Florida; six grandchildren, Jeffrey (Karen) Greissing, Jonathon Greissing, Jennifer (Brian) Hubbard, Michelle Adams, David Johnson and Casey Mullins; seven great grandchildren; two brothers, George Russell Young of Milford, Indiana and Harvey E. (Glenna) Young of Bucyrus; one sister, Carrie M. (Ron) Anderson of Ashland, Ohio along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Edith's family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, October 12 at Wise Funeral Service where funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday with Maynard Moser officiating. Burial will follow the service in Benton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, her family requests that memorial contributions be made payable to the Humane Society serving Crawford County and given at the funeral home.
