E. Gertrude Judy

Mrs. Eva Gertrude Judy, 94, passed away quietly Tuesday morning, February 28, 2012 at her home in the Carlisle House in Bucyrus.

She was born February 4, 1918 in Wooster to the late Fred and Grace (Orr) Miller and graduated from Galion High School. She married William H. Judy on August 2, 1937, sharing nearly 43 years of marriage before he preceded her in death in 1980. They had two children, both of whose professional accomplishments Gertrude was very proud.

After William's death, Gertrude worked as a retail clerk for the JC Penney Co. She also enjoyed travelling with local tour groups, collecting clocks and the company of her cats.

Gertrude is survived by her daughter, Judith (Nathaniel) Field of Northville, Mich. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, William A. Judy.

A graveside funeral service will be observed at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 1 in Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Don Kraps officiating. Gertrude was blessed to be a three time cancer survivor and wished that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society through Wise Funeral Service.
