Dr. Carl John Ide

Dr. Carl J. Ide, 91, of Bucyrus, passed away Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Altercare of Bucyrus. He was born September 25, 1919 in New Hampton, Iowa to the late Rev. Godfried John Ide and Carrie (Cortes) Ide. On June 12, 1943 he married Lois Thema Kyper at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Columbus and she survives. In addition to his wife of 67 years, he is survived by two daughters, Monica Sue Kauffman and husband, Larry of Bucyrus and Beth Ellen Ide of Albany, NY; three grandchildren, Amy L. Jarvis of Bucyrus, Eric Johns and wife Jean of Bucyrus and Christopher Kilkenny of Albany, NY; five great grandchildren, Jamie L. Johns, Lindsay M. Johns, Brente M. Jarvis, Rachel Pifer and Derrick Pifer; one great-great grandchild, MacKenzie Grace Rittenour all of Bucyrus; two brothers, Martin Ide of Vanderbilt, Mich. and Paul Ide of Arizona; two sisters, Elizabeth Schlotterbeck of Seminole, FL and Ruth Hood of Toledo, Ohio as well as many nieces and nephews. Carl is preceded in death by a son, Gregory C. Ide who passed in 1981 and three brothers, William Ide, Rev. Henry Ide and Julius Ide. He graduated Pre-Med B.A. from Bowling Green State University and graduated from Ohio State College of Medicine in 1944. Dr. Ide served as a US Navy Medical Officer during WW II from 1944 '
