Dorothy M. Rainey, 93, formerly of Farmview Dr., Bucyrus, died Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Heartland of Bucyrus. She was born June 7, 1917 in Antrim Twp., Wyandot County to the late Ralph O. and Clara E. (Bowlby) Cover. Dorothy graduated from Mt. Zion High School in 1935 and worked for JC Penney in Bucyrus, retiring after 30 years of service. On February 16, 1969 she married Frederick Rainey who preceded her in death on March 22, 1998. Also preceding her in death is a sister, Helen Crall. She is survived by her two step-children, Richard Rainey and wife Velma and Joyce Schifer and husband, Michael all of Bucyrus; five step-grandchildren, Rhonda Stockmaster and husband Thomas, Cheryl Cramer and husband Jeff, Chad Schifer, Jeremy Schifer and Nicholas Schifer; five step-great grandchildren,Eric Stockmaster, Jordan Stockmaster, Emily Stockmaster, Tyler Cramer and Jessica Cramer; one brother, Harold J. Cover and wife Roma of Bucyrus; one nephew, Terry Crall of Bucyrus; three nieces, Sharon Buck of Bucyrus, Treva Wine of North Carolina and Brenda Steigerwalt of the Columbus, Ohio area. Dorothy was a member of First Baptist Church and she enjoyed flowers, gardening and her family. Friends may call from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 PM Wednesday, November 3 at Wise Funeral Service where funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday with Pastor Kenneth Kinner officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to either First Baptist Church; Alzheimer's Association or to a charity of the donor's choice through the funeral home.
