Donna Marie (Frost, Markley) Harbaugh, 92, of Bucyrus, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Thursday November 21, 2024. She was born January 27, 1932, in Whetstone Township, Ohio, to the late Robert John Frost and the late Carol Geneva (Beach) Frost.
Donna graduated from Holmes Liberty School in 1950 and was a longtime resident of Bucyrus. She worked at Timken for thirty years, and upon retiring, was able to spend her time with family and friends. She found immense joy in spending time with her family, including her nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Donna was a gifted cook, known for her famous and delicious sugar cookies that brought joy to family and friends. She was also a talented crocheter, creating beautiful and intricate pieces, from doilies to large table clothes, and quilted several beautiful quilts. Her home was always welcoming, filled with warmth, laughter, and the aroma of her home-cooked meals. Donna was an avid reader, often found lost in a good book. She especially enjoyed reading books written by Danielle Steele and was known to often read an entire book in one day. She also enjoyed spending time with friends at the casino, playing the slots. Her kind and generous nature made her beloved by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by both her parents, her first husband, Ralph James Markley, her second husband, Richard Allen Harbaugh, a step-son Steve Harbaugh, a grandson Adam Michael Klieger, (son of Sandy and Kim Klieger), and a step-son-in-law, John Beal.
She is survived by her loving sister, Margaret Jean (Frost) Walcutt and her three cherished children: Dennis “Denny” Charles Markley, David “Dave” Lee Markley, and Sandra “Sandy” Jo (Markley) Klieger, and 2 step-children Thomas “Tom” Harbaugh and Linda Beal.
Denny and his wife, Vicki Lynn (Predmore) Markley, are the proud parents of two children: Brian Charles Markley and Brandy Lyne (Markley) Hoepf. Brian is the father of Veronica “Roni” Lynn (Markley) Scott, husband Dalton Isaac Scott, and Jacob Casper Markley, wife Logan Emilee (Kissling) Markley. Brandy is the mother of Alexis “Lexi” Lyne (Hoepf) Hensley, husband Garret Michael Hensley, Ashton Victoria (Hoepf) Martin, husband Roderick “Brody” Jackson Martin and Cyler Wayne Hoepf.
Dave and his wife, Cynthia “Cindy” Lynn (Wells) Markley are blessed with three children: Andrew “Andy” David Markley, Kylie Anne (Markley) Lohr, and Kim Rochelle Markley. Andy and his wife, Melinda "Mindy" Jane (Ricker) Markley are the proud parents of Olivia Elaine (Markley) Roth married to Allen “AJ” James Roth and Calvin Andrew Markley married to Tangwystl ”Tangy” Elanna (Kepler) Markley. Kylie is the mother of Seth Andrew Lohr, Ava Lynn Lohr and Atlie Marie Lohr.
Sandy and her husband, Kim Stacy Klieger, are the proud parents of two sons: Robert John Klieger and Curtis LeRoy Klieger. Robert, engaged to Margo Duffy Schwartz and Curtis, married to Lauren Paige (Foster) Klieger.
The late Steve Harbaugh was the father of Jason Harbaugh, married to Jenny, from Kansas City, Missouri. They were the proud parents of Adrianne Harbaugh.
Tom Harbaugh is married to Linda Jo (Reece) Harbaugh.
Linda (Harbaugh) Beal was married to the late John Beal and are the parents of Derick Beal. Derick has 3 daughters, Eva Harbaugh, Aria Harbaugh and Corinne Harbaugh.
Great-great-grandchildren include Lydia Payten McDonald (daughter of Veronica Scott), Landon Charles Markley, Laekyn Diane Hensley, Walker Koe Hensley, Tatum Jane Martin, Valyn Jane Roth, step-great-great granddaughter AisLee Ella Scott, and a step-great-great granddaughter from Missouri.
Donna's memory will live on in the hearts of her loved ones. She will be deeply missed for her love, her laughter, and her unwavering support.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday December 7, 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Wise Funeral Service, 129 W. Warren St., Bucyrus with Mike Noggle officiating. Burial will take place immediately following the service at the Nevada Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made payable to St. John’s United Church of Christ and will be accepted through the funeral home. Memories and photos can be shared on her guestbook page.
