Donna E. Dible, 90, of Bucyrus, died Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Heartland of Bucyrus.
She was born August 4, 1923 in Wyandot, Ohio to the late Hobart and Rose Ella (Bandy) Monroe. Donna graduated from Nevada High School in 1941 and that same year married Gerald F. Dible who preceded her in death in 1986. As a newlywed, she worked for a short time at the Nevada General Store until she and Gerald wanted to start a family.
Donna devoted her life to loving and caring for her family and always lived by the Golden Rule. Her love and legacy are carried on by her two children, Douglas (Joann) Dible of Richwood and Beverly (John) Kuhn of Bucyrus; five grandchildren, Melissa (Brian) Priest, Douglas Dible, Jr., Temperance (John) Mayberry, Molly (Alex) Callous and John Dible; five great grandchildren, Douglas Dible III, Brooke Mayberry, Leighton Priest, Johnathan Mayberry and Addison Priest; three sisters, Carol Frost and Glady Markley, both of Bucyrus and Rosie (Dave) Ritzler of Nevada as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Donna is preceded in death by her siblings, Earl, Donald and Arden Monroe, Helen Mills and Bonagene Monroe who died shortly after birth.
In the past, Donna enjoyed bowling with friends and has always loved getting together with family. She looked forward to euchre nights with her sisters which has been a fun, ongoing battle for years. Donna was proud to have lived to 90 and loved that she was able to spend this recent Christmas with family. She enjoyed watching classic TV shows like Bonanza and Matlock as well as others and when her Buckeyes were playing basketball or football, she was glued to the chair with a cold glass of ice water. Donna might be most remembered for her “Monroe” sense of humor and will certainly be missed by many.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Friday, January 3 at Wise Funeral Service where her funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday with her son, Rev. Douglas Dible officiating. Burial will follow in Nevada Cemetery.
