Donna Cornish

Donna Cornish, 82, died late Saturday night, March 16, 2013 at the Inn at Orchard Park where she had resided since moving to Bucyrus in 2006 from Michigan.

She was born in Detroit May 20, 1930; the only child of the late George and Helen (Kitchen) Cornish. She earned her bachelors degree from Wayne St. Univ. and masters from the Univ. of Michigan and taught elementary school in Detroit City Schools.

Having had no siblings, Donna held a close relationship with her cousins. She is survived by her aunt, Bea Smith and cousins, Dan (Violet) Wingate of Bucyrus and Sharon Swartz of Plano, Texas. She will also be missed by second cousins, Joanne (Doug) Seitz and their daughter, Sarah (Bryan) Schrader; Cynthia (Brian) Moore and their children, Caitlin and Connor; Phyllis Wingate and Lorraine (Jim) Betz and their sons, Matthew and Timothy along with a number of other cousins and countless friends from around the world.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her cousins, Glenda and Robert Todd and uncle, Clifford Smith.

Donna will be remembered for her zest for life and travel. She would always be available to help friends and family during moves and when planning events. She was a model train enthusiast with a robust collection of trains and memorabilia, loved everything that went into hot-air ballooning and adored her canine companions.

No formal services will be held. Donna will be inurned in the family plot in Howell's Lakeview Cemetery at a later date. Those wishing to leave memorial contributions may do so to the Humane Society serving Crawford County through Wise Funeral Service.
