Don R. Miller, 56, of Bucyrus died Thursday, July 31, 2014 at his home. After being in failing health for two years, he no longer has pain.
He was born in Bucyrus on November 25, 1957 to the late Carl A. Miller and Ruth (Smith) Miller who survives in Bucyrus. Don graduated from Wynford High School in 1976 after which he worked briefly at International Harvester Sales & Service in Bucyrus before farming full time with his father on the family farm.
Don was a well-liked guy with a number of friends over the years. An avid Harley rider, he rode his bike in all sorts of weather to a number of places throughout the United States. He also enjoyed drag racing, both on television as well as visiting area raceways. Don was a musician, playing the guitar and bass guitar and listening to a variety of music genres.
In addition to his mother, Ruth; Don is survived by brother, Dave Miller of Bucyrus; sister, Kay Weisenauer and husband Roger of Bloomville; nephew, Derek Weisenauer and wife Lindsay of Hilliard; niece, Kerri Pope and husband Tyler of New Washington; great niece and nephew, Lexi and Kellen; as well as a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends and family are asked to gather at Oakwood Cemetery in Bucyrus for a graveside funeral service on Monday, August 4 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Mike Corwin officiating.
Memorial donations may be given to The Gideons or a charity of the donor’s choice through Wise Funeral Service, 129 W. Warren St., Bucyrus, Ohio 44820 and memories are encouraged in the Memorial Guestbook below.
