Diana Rae Robinson, 62, of New Washington and formerly of Whetstone Twp., died unexpectedly Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Bucyrus Community Hospital after becoming ill in recent days.
She was born in Galion on April 29, 1951 to the late Harley Richard Wolf, Sr. and Margaret (Yarman) Wolf. She graduated from Galion High School and worked at the Bucyrus L & K as a hostess, server and eventually manager. Diana moved to the Brown Derby in Bucyrus and Ontario, then sold real estate for Sluss Realty. She worked at the Sandwich Shoppe and Peppercorns before going to school with her daughter and studying social work. In recent years, she was Morning Glory Bakery’s biggest cheerleader and PR person. She was happy to have moved to New Washington to be closer to her daughter and family and said 2013 was the best year of her life.
While working at the L & K, a customer introduced her to his friend, Johnie Robinson. She and Johnie were married on June 20, 1980 in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Bucyrus and he preceded her in death on June 9, 2010. Together, they were very active in Bucyrus Order of the Eastern Star #3 and Masonic Lodge activities. Diana loved to entertain and plan a party, having an active role in the Shrine/Star Ice Cream Social. She previously was active in Relay for Life having had family with breast cancer and recently joined the Women of the Moose.
Diana will be remembered as a selfless friend to many who seldom complained, would do anything and everything to help a friend or neighbor and always worried about others’ well-being. She loved to carry a new purse and wouldn’t be seen in public without a pair of earrings, even stopping to buy a new pair if she left the house without them in.
