Dennis L. Wirebaugh

Dennis L. Wirebaugh, 71, of Bucyrus, died early Saturday, November 30, 2013 at his residence following a brief battle with leukemia.

He was born August 26, 1942 in Bucyrus to the late Harold F. and Alice M. (Fasig) Wirebaugh. Dennis graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1960. He married Sally L. Beach, who survives. They were married for 26 years and raised two boys.

Dennis is survived by his two sons, Daniel (Barbara) Wirebaugh of Bucyrus and Derrick Wirebaugh of Sycamore; seven grandchildren,  Weslee (Maranda) Wirebaugh, Dustin (Amber) Wirebaugh, Brittany Wirebaugh, Ashlee Sand, Micah Wirebaugh, Seth Wirebaugh and Sydney Wirebaugh, along with four great grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Julia Emory of Bucyrus and longtime companion, Sharon Brown of Galion and her daughter, Michelle Brown (David Burns) of Bucyrus, and their son Noah – who he also loved like a grandson.

Dennis worked at Timken for 30 years. Dennis loved coaching his boys in their sports as well as watching them participate. He was musically gifted and played guitar in a local band during the ’60s. Dennis enjoyed bowling in the Elks league, playing cards with friends and he was an avid sports fan and followed Buckeyes football and NASCAR. Dennis also had a big heart for animals, especially his dog, Buford.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, December 3 at Wise Funeral Service, where his funeral will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. with Chaplain Dan Clouse officiating. Family will also receive friends one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be in Nevada Cemetery.
