Dennis K. Moore

Dennis Keith Moore, 64, died late Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Bucyrus Community Hospital.

He was born April 14, 1951 in Bucyrus to Roy and Juanita (Myers) Moore and attended school at Bucyrus until he choose to enlist in the US Navy where he was stationed in Miramar, California, Norfolk, Virginia, San Diego, California, Whidbey Island, Washington, and Beeville, Texas along with many ports of call around the world, serving during both Vietnam and the Gulf War. Dennis was honorably discharged with 22 years of active service on October 31, 1991 and was proud to have given his time in trying to better American lives.

Dennis leaned to the left politically but was also very opinionated when he disagreed with their beliefs. He collected about anything that could be collected and loved riding his motorcycles through the years. He belonged to various bike clubs and he enjoyed riding with his longtime friend, Jimmy Byers, whom Dennis considered a brother. For downtime, he enjoyed watching movies, especially older war movies or anything starring John Wayne.

He is survived by his mom, Juanita J. Moore; daughter, Danielle E. Moore, both of Bucyrus; two sons, Dennis K. (Elizabeth) Moore, Jr. and David Moore, both of Marion; two grandchildren, Isabelle and Elijah Moore; two sisters, Theresa Vermillion and Denise Francisco, both of Bucyrus. Also surviving are two nephews, Chris (Jane) Coffey and Cory Vermillion and a niece, Courtney (Trent) McClaskey. Dennis was preceded in death by his father.

Dennis will be cremated through Wise Funeral Service and then the US Navy will give him a Burial at Sea, a special place to Dennis where he spent much of his service time. Memorial contributions may be made payable to the Crawford County Veterans Hall of Fame (CCVHOF) Monument Fund and these donations can be given at the funeral home, 129 W. Warren St., Bucyrus, Ohio 44820. Expressions of sympathy are encouraged to be left on his Tribute Wall.
