Delores May “Sis” Hoyles, 79, died Sunday, November 22, 2015 at Heartland of Bucyrus following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s.
Delores was born March 1, 1936 in Bucyrus to the late Ernest and Wilma (DeWalt) Hoyles and lived a majority of her life on Woodlawn Ave. She worked for many years at Fairway Waycraft where she packaged light bulbs.
Sis endured many challenges in life as she was blind but she never let this slow her down. She loved roller skating with friends and family and she crocheted many afghans. In her earlier years, she loved watching old Westerns and in more recent years, her Mondays, Tuesdays and Saturdays were devoted to playing BINGO at Heartland. Sis enjoyed listening to country music and loved her many dogs through the years.
She is survived by her brother, Dalton “Mick” Hoyles of Florida, one niece, Lisa (Steven) Slomsky and family of Kansas; one nephew, Robert Allen (Anselma) Hoyles of Florida; one cousin and caregiver, Althea Robinson of Bucyrus and a longtime close friend, Richard Thomas also of Bucyrus. Sis is preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Gaytha Hoyles of Florida.
A private burial service will be held at Crawford County Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be given to the Humane Society Serving Crawford County or to Fairway Waycraft through the Wise Funeral Service and expressions of sympathy are encouraged to be shared on her tribute wall.
