David E. Reynolds

David E. Reynolds, 72, of Iberia died December 28, 2020 at home in the care of his loved ones and Avita Hospice.

David was born November 16, 1948 in Washington, Pennsylvania to the late Walter and Betty (Moore) Reynolds. His family moved to the Bucyrus area when he was still young. He graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1967 before he joined the Army. David was stationed in Colorado where he served for two years. After his service, he managed many gas stations in Bucyrus and Mt. Gilead, David then had his own auto repair business, and lastly, began working at Stiger Precast as a truck driver. David worked at Stiger Precast for many years until his retirement in 2010. About 21 years ago, he reconnected with Kathleen Eimer with whom he had been neighbors in their teens. The two had known each other for 30 years before they started dating. Kathleen survives.

David was a quiet and passionate person. He liked staying home and tinkering away on his vehicles and especially enjoyed working on his Harley. When he wasn’t at home, he was taking a 100 mile motorcycle ride with Kathleen whenever possible. He was always wearing his Harley rings. David was a lifetime member of the Harley Owners Group (HOG), he was a patriot rider, and he was a part of American Legion Post 181. As an avid eBay purchaser, if someone needed something, David was able to hunt it down. He would not stop searching until he got it. David adored all of Kathleen’s family, whom he considered as his own. After retirement, David would look after his grandson Louis. Over the last 10 years, he struggled with COPD and in the last three years he was fighting colon cancer as well.

In addition to Kathleen, David is survived by his stepchildren John (Tara) Lykins, Wendy (Tony) Szekley, and Lance (Natasha) Eimer; step-grandchildren Jillian Lykins, Kennedy Szekley, Kayla Szekley, Louis Eimer, Quenyn Eimer, Lela Eimer, Nadelyna Eimer, and Tatum Grandstaff; and his brother Frank “Dick” (Wilma) Reynolds. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant children Michael and Angela Reynolds, sister Sandra Reynolds, and an infant sister.

A private service will be held with family. Those wishing to make donations may make them payable to Nationwide Children’s Hospital or to Wise Funeral Service to assist with David’s funeral expenses. These will be accepted at Wise Funeral Service at 129 W. Warren St., Bucyrus, Ohio 44820. Memories and photos can be shared on David’s tribute page.
