David A. Reed

David A. Reed, 67, of Bucyrus, died unexpectedly this past week at his residence.



He was born October 10, 1948 in Bucyrus to the late Betty J. (Arndt) Reed and was a 1966 graduate of Bucyrus High School. Shortly after high school, David enlisted with the US Navy as a Seabee and continued serving as a reservist for many years following active duty. He was also responsible for having a hand in numerous area structures, working as a brick mason for various contractors until his retirement. David was an avid OSU fan and a member of American Legion Post 405 in New Washington.



He is survived by three daughters, Angela (Craig) Vent and their four children, Jackson, Hayden, Mallorie, and Mason; Elisabeth Smith and her three children, Tyson, Josephyne, and Gretchen; and Kari (Ben) Hiler and their three children, Victoria, Samantha, and Andreana. David is also survived by a brother, Steve (Nancy) Reed; sister-in-law, Carol Reed; nephew, Doni Reed; and nieces, Tonya Reed and Jennifer Candel. He was preceded in death by one brother, Donny Reed.



Private graveside service will be held in Oakwood Cemetery where full military rites will be provided by the US Navy and American Legion Post 405 Honor Guards.



Memorial donations may be made payable to either the Ohio Veterans Home or Nationwide Children’s Hospital. These gifts can be given through Wise Funeral Service, 129 W. Warren St., Bucyrus, Ohio 44820. Memories are encouraged to be shared by visiting Dave’s Tribute Wall.
