Daryle Edward Gangluff, 82, of Bucyrus died Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Autumnwood Care Center in Tiffin, Ohio.
He was born March 8, 1934 in Venice Twp., Seneca County to the late Harold and Olive (Mott) Gangluff and attended Attica High School. He then joined the US Army from 1954-1956, serving along the German-Czech border during the Korean Conflict. He went on to work at Swan Rubber for over 42 years, retiring as a foreman. He was married to Ruth Featheringill and they later divorced. Daryle then married the former Marie Jacobs Riedel on August 28, 1974, sharing 41 years of marriage, laughter, travel, BINGO, bowling, and craft shows before her death September 26 of last year.
Daryle was an outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was an accomplished woodworker, making many rolling pins, napkin holders, toys, and other pieces sold at craft shows. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bucyrus as well as American Legion Post 181 and VFW Post 8999.
Daryle is survived by two sons, Phillip (Marilyn) Gangluff of Tiffin and John (Beverly) Gangluff of Attica; five stepchildren, Byron Riedel, Roya Ely, Donald (Sandy) McMichael, Mary McMichael-Liston, and Kelly McMichael; two grandchildren, Nicole (Cole) Helberg of Perrysburg and Laura (Jen) Jordan of South Charleston, Ohio; 11 step grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren with one expected; three siblings, Darlene Gangluff of Rochester, New York, David Gangluff of Collins, Ohio, and Wanda Ramsey of Bradenton, Florida; and two brothers-in-law, Tom Seary of Virginia and Fred Corey of Brunswick, Ohio along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and Marie, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Carol Seary and Wanita Corey; sister-in-law, Pauline Gangluff; and brother-in-law, Jeff Ramsey.
A Memorial Service for Daryle will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, September 25 at Wise Funeral Service, 129 W. Warren St., Bucyrus, with Pastor Mike Greenler officiating. His family will receive friends at the funeral home before the service from 1-3 pm. Private burial will take place in Sycamore’s Pleasant View Cemetery on a later date.
Memorial donations are encouraged to be given to the American Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice through the funeral home. Memories and photos can be shared on his Tribute Wall.
