Daniel E. Young

Daniel E. Young, 73, died Sunday morning, June 9, 2024 at Legacy of Bucyrus under the care of Avita Hospice. 

He was born in Bucyrus on April 2, 1951 to Clifford E. Young and Jean (McClintock) Sharrock Wagner who both survive him. Daniel went to Wynford High School where he played football, basketball, and was a pole vaulter. After graduating in 1969, Daniel earned an associate’s degree in computer science from Tri-State College and moved to California where he worked for the Ram Tech Corporation, Cubic Defense, Scripps Health, and Eisenhower Medical Center. He worked as a realtor before his health no longer allowed and he returned to Ohio to be near his family.

Daniel was an avid golfer, and he had the opportunity to play on some notable courses over the years. He also enjoyed fishing all over North America with his family. He was a gifted woodworker as well and liked yardwork, especially seeing that the grass was neatly mown.

In addition to his parents, Daniel is survived by siblings, Becky Stormer and David Young along with nieces, nephews, and their families. He was preceded in death by brother, Tim Young, brother-in-law, Larry Stormer; and stepfathers, Jim Sharrock and Bub Wagner.

Friends are invited to join Daniel’s family in Oakwood Cemetery on Friday, June 14 at 11:00 am for a graveside funeral officiated by Certified Celebrant, Lisa Snyder.
