Connie Sue Dickey, 81, of Shelby and formerly of Bucyrus died Monday, September 3, 2018 at her home after a recent cancer diagnosis.
She was born in Crawford County on November 9, 1936 to the late Lester and Margaret (Swartz) Amstutz. She attended Tiro School and worked at The Timken Co. as an inspector before her retirement. She was married to Richard Dickey in 1990 and he preceded her in death in 2009. She was also preceded by her children, Richard Predmore and Linda Coder, and siblings, Jean Lohr, Darwin Amstutz, Beverly Zeiters, Lester Amstutz Jr., Donald Amstutz, Roger Amstutz, David Amstutz, and Shirley Amstutz.
Connie is survived by stepdaughters, Marsha Stoll, Susan (Mark) Groves, Laurie (Jim) Downing, and Lisa Schifer; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and siblings, Shirley (Jim) Stine, Wendall (Naomi) Amstutz, Paul (Adella) Amstutz, and Deanna (Tom) Wilcox.
Connie will be remembered for her bright, fun-loving nature and for being very chatty, thus her nickname at work: MM (Motormouth). At home, she often crocheted and knitted afghans for friends and family.
Connie will be laid to rest privately in Oakland Cemetery, Tiro. Though no services are being held, she can be remembered with a memorial donation made payable to a charity of the donor’s choice and given through Wise Funeral Service, 129 W Warren St., Bucyrus, Ohio 44820.
