Connie Cassaro

Connie Cassaro, age 75, passed away January 15, 2024 at her home after a battle with cancer.

Connie was born in Bucyrus to the late Doris (Winck) and Fred Dicks on May 24, 1948. Connie was also preceded in death by her husband Ray Cassaro; her daughter Yvonne Renee Newcome; and her son Sean Cassaro.

Connie is survived by children, Charlie Frazier, Tim Holt, Doug Holt, and Michelle Perry; brother Freddie Dicks; and her sister and brother-in-law Cheryl and Ed Monk. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.

Connie graduated from Wynford High School in 1966. She worked at Marion Correctional Institution and Bucyrus Blades before opening Five Star Driving School where she taught driver education. Connie and Ray, who was the love of her life and best friend, had a place at Lake Erie. They both loved fishing and spent many hours boating on Lake Erie.

Connie was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Ladies AMVETS, and Bucyrus Moose Lodge. She loved playing euchre.

At Connie’s request, there will be no services. Memorials may be made payable to Crawford County Humane Society and given through Wise Funeral Service, 129 W Warren St, Bucyrus, Ohio 44820. Memories and photos can be shared on the guestbook.
