Carl E. Clark

Carl E. Clark, 84, of Bucyrus died Saturday, January 14, 2017 at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital after years of declining health.



He was born in Lancaster, Ohio on December 10, 1932 to the late Elmer Ray and Jane Elizabeth (Koska) Clark. Carl graduated from Lancaster High School in 1951 and served in the US Army from 1953-1955. He fought in the Korean Conflict where he drove a tank he named “Angie” (He later learned that his sister named her daughter Angie at that time as well).



Carl made his way to Crawford County and retired from Komatsu Dresser where he was a stockroom clerk. He will be remembered as a good, hard working man. He enjoyed socializing at the Council on Aging when his health permitted and he was a member of the Bucyrus Salvation Army and VFW Post 8999.



Carl is survived by his best friend and caregiver, Jack Smith and five siblings, Donald (Bev) Clark of Bucyrus, Patty Bowen of Florida, Richard “Dick” (Elke) Clark of North Carolina, Linda Young of Bucyrus, and Catherine (Curt) Yeager of Lancaster.



In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his brothers, Norman Clark and Joe Clark.



Carl’s siblings will host a Memorial Service at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 18 at the Bucyrus Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 1980 Stetzer Road. He will be laid to rest in Oakwood Cemetery in a private service with military honors by the US Army and American Legion Post 181 Honor Guards.
