Byron D. Riedel

Byron D. Riedel, 70, of Bucyrus died unexpectedly of natural causes on Wednesday, September 25, 2018.



He was born November 19, 1947 in Bucyrus to the late Roy A. Riedel and Blanche “Marie” (Jacobs) Riedel Gangluff. He graduated from Bucyrus High School and worked various jobs over the years including Brassel’s and CheeseHaven in Port Clinton and for Crawford County for a few years. In his spare time, Byron enjoyed playing chess and was known to “run the table” many times while shooting pool. For relaxation, he enjoyed snacking on black walnuts and watching old westerns.



He is survived by children, David (Holly) Riedel and Kerri Wilkes; four grandchildren; and siblings, Roya Ely, Don McMichael, Mary McMichael-Liston, and Kelly McMichael. In addition to his parents, Byron was preceded in death by his stepdad, Daryle Gangluff.



A public graveside funeral will be held at 1:30 pm Friday, September 28 in Pleasant View Cemetery in Sycamore with Pastor Mike Greenler officiating. Donations can be made payable to the charity of donor’s choice and will be accepted through Wise Funeral Service.
