Brett Steven Erwin

Brett Steven Erwin, 58, a lifelong resident of Bucyrus, passed away unexpectedly on September 22, 2023.

He was born on April 27, 1965, to Anya E. (Cook) Schell and Gary M. Erwin, who both survive. Brett was a 1983 graduate of Bucyrus High School and went on to earn his associate degree in business from the University of Cincinnati. He worked at Pillsbury in Martel for 30 years before retiring. 

Brett was a homebody who could always find something around his house to keep him busy. In earlier years, he enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson; and he called the beach his happy place, as he could relax and soak up the sun. He shared some nice conversations over coffee with his mother. He was always willing to lend others a helping hand. 

In addition to his mother, Anya E. Schell and his dad, Gary (Trudy) Erwin, Brett is survived by siblings, Tani Erwin of Columbus, Ohio, Joel (Amie) Schell of Bellbrook, Ohio and Graham (Danielle) Schell of Smyrna, Georgia; nephews and nieces, Brady, Brendan, Milana, Katelyn, and Colette Schell; aunts, Moni (Denny) Scheidt, Paula (Mike) Romanoff and Lisa Erwin as well as numerous cousins.

Brett was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Dallas and Margaret Erwin; his maternal grandparents, Emery and Myrtle Cook and his uncle, Wayne Erwin. 

Brett will be laid to rest in Oakwood Cemetery and a celebration of life gathering will be held from 12 – 2 pm on Saturday, April 27 at the Bucyrus Elks Lodge #156, 309 E. Mansfield St. 

Donations can be made payable to Father’s Heart Healing Center and will be accepted through Wise Funeral Service. Expressions of sympathy are encouraged to be shared on his guestbook.
